Look closer and you'll notice the carved lines — each one slow and deliberate, as if no one was in a hurry. That patience is woven right into the clay.
And the shape — so full, so round, so generous. Holding this cup feels like being held back. That's Okinawa to me. That quiet warmth that doesn't announce itself. Living in San Francisco, far from home, I reach for this cup on the mornings I miss the island most.
